Tens of thousands of international and local visitors are expected to attend this years (6-8.08.13) International Klezmer Festival in Zefat. The biggest festival of Jewish soul music in the world that is in its 26rd year in Zefat.
The Klezmer Festival is no doubt one of the biggest events in the Israeli cultural calendar. Numerous unique musical performances are given by the best Klezmer musicians from Israel who perform with other international Klezmer greats. Stages are set up in the old historical alleys of Zefat which lend a special atmosphere to the festival.
Among the artists appearing this year – David Daor, Mirel Reznik, Aharon Razel, Eyal Shiluah, Golan Azulai, Hamadregot, Ben Snof, Daniel Zamir, Musa Berlin, Jimmy Lloyd, Womens group "Klezmiriot", groups and special artists from around the world, Bimat Karliback and many others.
In addition to the many performances (free entrance to all of them) there will also be many other activities in the city. They will include a stage for "Klezmerim for Kids" – kids will be encouraged to try the Klezmer instruments, a magic show and storytelling, demonstrations of unusual instruments, plays and many more. Musical tours will be given accompanied by Klezmer musicians in cooperation with the JNF. There will also be tours and workshops in the spirit of the Kabala and the city of Zefat. Entrance is free to all the activities for the duration of the festival including all the performances spread around the city and Klezmer Jam sessions that will go on into the small hours and lots of other activities for all the family.

On August 11, 2013 – August 14, 2013 a fascinating musical meeting will take place among the enchanting alleyways of the city of Safed, capital of the Galilee. Where the best Klezmer musicians in Israel and from around the world will connect with young musicians and Klezmer fans for a shared experience of introduction, study, creation, and wonderful performances.
Master classes – a place for exchanging ideas and styles, to develop bonds and musical collaborations.
Master classes will focus this year on the art of personal expression, improvisation and the development of original creativity.

Frank London: Trumpet, USA
Is a New York City-based trumpeter, bandleader, and composer active in klezmer and world music. Frank London is best known for his role as trumpeter in The Klezmatics, Grammy award winner. He is also a member of Hasidic New Wave and leads Frank London's Klezmer Brass Allstars.
Eyal Shiloach: Violin, Israel
Is an international soloist and director of master classes; artistic director of International Klezmer Festival in Safed; artistic director of Safed College of Jewish and Ethnic Music, director of Safed Music Program; facilitator and conductor in the Klor Center for Music and Dance.
Joel Rubin: Clarinet, USA
Is a Clarinetist and ethnomusicologist, Associate Professor and Director of Music Performance at the University of Virginia, where he also directs the UVA Klezmer Ensemble.
He has been one of the leading figures in the international klezmer movement as a performer, scholar, author, educator, and producer for over thirty years.
Daniel Zamir: Saxophone, Israel
Is an international musician, artist and creator; innovator in original Jewish jazz; academic director of Mizmor Music School in Givat Washington.
Christian Dawid Clarinet, Berlin
Is an internationally renowned clarinetist . Drawing from a multitude of influences including classical, jazz and ethnic music. He currently leads the Ukrainian brass band Konsonans Retro, performs for The Other Europeans, Trio Yas, Bluer than Blue and Paul Brody's Sadawi.
Lorin Sklamberg: Voice, Accordion and guitar, New York
Is an International artist, co-founder of the the klezmatics Grammy award winner and recorded over fifty albums; regular participant in significant international festivals, teaches courses in song repertoire and Yiddish singing style.
Guy Schalom: Drummer and percussionist, London
Is designated by Roots Magazine as one of the leading percussionists in Britain today. He regularly appears at significant festivals in Europe and merges Klezmer and Egyptian music in his performances.
Pete Rushefsky: Cimbalom Usa
Is a leading performer, composer and teacher of the tsimbl (cimbalom), music. He has performed internationally at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Concertgebouw and Cité de la Musique . Rushefsky has recorded and has played with many of klezmer and Jewish music leading performers. He performs regularly in the duo Di Tsvey with Steve Greenman and with the Joel Rubin Ensemble. He also serves as Executive Director of the Center for Traditional Music and Dance in New York City.
Moussa Berlin: Clarinet, Israel
Is one of the world's greatest Klezmer musicians, revives the ancient melodies of Safed.
Chilik Frank: Clarinet, Israel
Is a Breslover Hassid who is a global leader in Jewish Hassidic music; member of ‘Azmara’ Band and Halev Vehama'ayan Ensemble.
Naor Carmi: Double bass, Israel
Is one of pioneers of ethnic Jewish music in Israel; established Folk Orchestra; member of Halev Vehama'ayan Ensemble. Teaches at the Mizmor Music School in Givat Washington.
Eyal Sela: Clarinet, Turkish clarinet, Zorna, flute and ethnic flutes, Israel
Is an international wind instrument composer and artist. Wrote the music for the musical Bharati and plays as a main soloist of the Idan Reichel Project.
Liat Saba: Cello, Israel
Was born in the USA and is a graduate of Manhattan's Academy of Music and London's Guildhall School of Music, She performs across the globe in different styles of music. she also established the Sheba Ensemble.
Dr. Uri Brenner: Piano, composer, Israel
Is a gifted composer and pianist. He was awarded Prime Minister's Prize for composition; frequently records and performs Jewish music across the world.
Miriam Jaskierowicz Arman: Vocal pedagogue / reconstructionist, Israel
Is a world-renowned artist and teacher; has published many books on vocal arts and techniques. Her lessons are the focus of pilgrimages for students around the world.
Orit Shiloach: Vocal training, Israel
Is a singer and vocal trainer; conductor and leader of musical workshops. Her ensembles have won prestigious international prizes.
